Scalable GaN manufacturing becoming available through collaboration between IC-Link and Polar

Applications ranging from AI and data infrastructure to automotive and aerospace increasingly need high-efficiency, high-speed power solutions. These can be enabled by gallium nitride (GaN) technology, in which imec has built up more than fifteen years of expertise.

This technology will become available from prototyping to high-volume production thanks to a collaboration between IC-Link and Polar Semiconductor, a U.S.-based foundry specializing in high-voltage, power, and sensor technologies.

Specifically, customers will be able to access 200mm production of enhancement-mode (e-mode) GaN devices. They can accelerate their development thanks to an integrated offering that combines imec’s technology, IC-Link’s design-to-manufacturing services, and Polar’s manufacturing excellence.
